What is Idling Stop?
Idling Stop is a feature that automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a complete stop, such as at a red light or in heavy traffic. The engine automatically restarts when the driver releases the brake pedal or presses the accelerator.
Benefits of Idling Stop
- Fuel Efficiency: Studies show that a vehicle idling for 30 seconds consumes approximately 200ml of fuel. Idling Stop minimizes this wasted fuel, especially in congested urban traffic.
- Reduced Emissions: Turning off the engine at stops reduces CO2, NOx, and other harmful emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment.
- Increased Engine Longevity: Reducing engine runtime minimizes friction and heat, potentially extending the engine’s lifespan.
- Enhanced Comfort: Idling Stop eliminates engine noise during stops, creating a quieter and more relaxing experience for drivers and passengers.
