In the automotive sector, Mitsubishi vehicles have long won the trust of consumers for their durability, fuel efficiency, and performance. Contributing to this success is the significant role of Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam’s factory.

1. Mitsubishi Vietnam – A Journey of Steady Growth

1.1. History and Development

Starting in 1994 as the exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Vietnam, Vina Star Motors (VSM) gradually asserted its position in the market. In 2009, the first Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam factory was established in Binh Duong province, marking a significant milestone in the journey to conquer Vietnamese customers.

1.2. Production Capacity and Product Lines

With an initial capacity of 30,000 vehicles per year, the factory in Binh Duong focused on assembling passenger cars such as the Mitsubishi Outlander, Pajero Sport, and Attrage. In 2018, in response to the increasing market demand, Mitsubishi Vietnam invested in building a second factory in Quang Ngai province, raising the total capacity to 90,000 vehicles per year. This factory currently produces the Xpander – a shining “star” in the MPV segment in Vietnam.
