Penalties for Overdue Vehicle Inspections

According to Decree 100/2019/NĐ-CP, overdue vehicle inspections incur different fines based on the duration:

• Less than 1 month overdue: Fines range from 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 VND for individuals, and 4,000,000 to 6,000,000 VND for organizations.
• 1 to 3 months overdue: Fines range from 4,000,000 to 6,000,000 VND for individuals, and 8,000,000 to 12,000,000 VND for organizations.
• Over 3 months overdue: Fines range from 6,000,000 to 8,000,000 VND for individuals, and 12,000,000 to 16,000,000 VND for organizations.

In addition, the vehicle owner’s Vehicle Technical Safety and Environmental Protection Certificate will be suspended for 1 to 3 months.
